Let's face it, as we get older losing weight and body fat gets tougher. When we were younger the weight would just fall off, but now we actually have to make changes to our lifestyle in order to lose one pound of belly fat! What is the deal?
Today, I want to lead you in the direction of getting the results you desire. I'm confident that working out alone wont get you there, but changing your diet alone can help you drop the pounds. The combination of diet and exercise is key to get the body you've always wanted, but 80% comes from what you're putting in your mouth.
Here are some changes I want you to make today. And you should be actively altering the way you cook and eat! If you remain diligent you will get the body you've been looking for!
1. No Excuses

First and foremost there should be no excuses. You have choices when it comes to what you're putting in your mouth. No one is forcing you to swallow that Tempura Roll or have that cupcake.
If you continue to make these choices, it's no wonder you haven't changed much since you upped your workouts.
If changing your body or number on the scale is what you want than we need to be committed.
Okay, I'm getting off my soap box because you get it!
2. 90% Good Every Single Week

I want you to eat well 90% of the time.
That means if you are eating 3 meals a day, you only get two cheat items a week.
Plan those cheat items in advance so you don't splurge more than you should.
Using an app to track your food (I use Lose It), will help you remain accountable.
3. Ditch the Processed Foods

Shop on the outside perimeter of the grocery store only!
Research the Whole Food Diet and stick to eating foods as they were meant to be eaten.

Try to stay away from eating out UNLESS it is one of your two cheat items.
Anytime you eat out you are getting more sodium, sugar, oil, and fat....than you think. Even if you're ordering grilled salmon...unless you specify, they are cooking it in butter and oils. TRUST ME!
4. Don't Go Hungry

Carry healthy snacks around.
In case you're in a pinch and starving, you can eat something healthy instead of being tempted by Jack In The Box or Jimmy Johns.
Protein bar, yogurt, hard-boiled egg, handful of almonds, apple, pear, banana...these are all good choices.
5. It Shouldn't Be Easy

If eating healthy 80% of the time were easy, you'd be at your goal already.
If you haven't had to make that much of a change to your diet...most likely, you aren't reaching your full potential.
I want you to get to your results as quickly as possible & stay there for the long haul.
If you're wondering if that restaurant quality veggie burger is healthy....most likely you could be make a BETTER choice that will help you reach your target weight more efficiently.
You can do this! And you can do this by the end of this calendar year. Make the smarter choice when it comes to food and I promise you will enjoy the results that come out of it!
