Another food trend on the rise is cutting out the sugar from your diet. I'm a big proponent of this one because I've seen clients bodies completely change shape after cutting sugar. Don't get me wrong this one is not easy, but if you can do it you won't be sorry.
Aside from looking great, there are several other health benefits you will gain from this small change. Check it out!
1. We'll start with the obvious: Losing Weight

Most people consume 20 teaspoons of ADDED sugar a day. That's a lot of extra calories!
When you take out the added sugar, it's no surprise that you will lose 3-6lbs easy as well as shrinking a few inches all over.
If you have reached a plateau in your weight loss journey...this will definitely help you get to the next level!
2. Decreases Health Risks

Consuming a lot of sugar each day will spike your insulin levels which puts you at risk for Type 2 Diabetes and Heart Disease.
Cutting sugar will help lower your blood pressure and decrease your heart rate saving you many visits to the doctor.
If you have issues with insulin resistance and Type 2 Diabetes, taking out sugar from your diet will help give your body a natural detox and give your liver and pancreas a chance to do their job.
3. Slows the Aging Process

Reducing your sugar intake will automatically decrease the appearance of skin discoloration and fine lines in your face!!
Cutting sugar also helps keep up the elastin in your skin which is what keeps us all looking young and beautiful!
4. You'll Get Smarter!

Having too much sugar in your diet can cause brain fog or memory loss so when you cut it out you can actually think more clearly!
Sugar can actually damage your brain cells so if you find yourself forgetting why you walked into the kitchen...it may be time to reduce sugar!
5. You'll Be a Better Sleeper

It's no surprise that your quality of sleep might be suffering due to excess sugar.
Sugar is one of the largest contributors to people having insomnia because it provides your body with instant energy when you consume it.
Reducing your sugar intake can help your body get back on track and promote healthy sleep patterns.
If you find yourself crashing mid day and needing a nap it may be due to the fact that your body has become sugar reliant.
Okay, now that I've convinced myself to cut back on the sugar, hopefully this can help you beat the fitness plateau and get your body back on track the way it was meant to be! See you next week.
